How it all began
A friend of my grandmother's gave me a knitted strawberry hat thirty years ago, when I was little. It stayed with me through childhood, then ended up in a box in the attic.
When I became a mother myself, I found it again. I put it on my little daughter's head one afternoon in the South of France - and people stopped us everywhere to ask where it was from.
That's when the idea for Pop a Plum was born. I wanted to create a hat that isn't just lovely to wear, but one you want to keep and pass on.

What is a strawberry hat?
The strawberry hat is a beloved Swedish classic: a red knitted hat with a little green stem on top, worn by generations of children.
Ours is knitted in 100% organic cotton or extra-fine merino wool, made in small batches in Portugal.
Built to last - long enough to pass down to a younger sibling.

Which size should I choose?
Our hats come in four sizes: newborn (0–3 months), 3–12 months, 1–2 years and 2–5 years.
Measure around your child's head, just above the eyebrows, and compare with our size guide. Between sizes? Choose the larger one - the rolled brim gives room to grow.
Organic cotton or merino wool?
Organic cotton is best for spring, summer and mild autumn days. Merino wool is warmer and perfect for autumn and winter.
Is the strawberry hat a good gift?
Yes - it's one of our most popular gifts for newborns, baby showers and first birthdays.
